Annual History Tour during Clearwater Heritage  Days Was a HUGE success!
Tour #1 to the Historic Downtown area was a huge success with many adults and children riding the trolley pulled by Mel Klein's draft horses. See picture on the Home Page.

Tour #2 was a trolley tour to Acacia Cemetery where 18 Civil War Veterans are buried. The stories of eight of the 18 soldiers was told as a uniformed soldier moved from grave-to-grave.

"Heroes of the Uprising"
On Sat., November 15, at 2:30 p.m., the Clearwater Area Historical Society hosted Michael Keigan, author of “Heroes of the Uprising,”  telling the story of the Minnesota Dakota’s Uprising of 1862.  He was available for book signings. The meeting was held in the Masonic Lodge Building, which is at the corner of Oak St. and Main St. in Clearwater.  This building is on the National Register of Historic Places.  If you have never seen the inside of the Masonic Lodge this is your chance to learn a little of the history and enjoy some good lively discussion.

The Rolling Tours of Clearwater were a huge success during 2014 and 2013 Clearwater Heritage Days

The Clearwater History Club provided historical information about some of the older properties in the Clearwater Area.  If you were not able to make the tour, you may still pick up the guide and a map at city hall.  It would be a perfect way to host an out-of-town guest, add to a family reunion or other event.
